The Iraq Campaign Medal Ribbon recognizes United States military service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from March 19, 2003, to December 31, 2011. To be eligible, personnel must have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days within the area of eligibility (Iraq and contiguous waters/airspace), or engaged in combat, or were wounded. The ribbon’s colors and design feature symbols of Iraq and represent the pursuit of freedom and stability.  

Ribbon Significance Colors:

The ribbon’s colors are drawn from the Iraqi flag, with green representing Islam, red symbolizing courage and freedom, and white and black for Islam and generosity, respectively.
